BiscayTIK foundation, dependent entity of Bizkaia foral council, has been awarded on the category of e-administration, for its supporting and accompaniment work with town halls and local entity in their modernization processes.

In the same category that BiscayTIK foundation has been awarded, the mexican state of Veracruz received the gold award and the city of Moscou received a special mention.

In total, 18 projects have been awarded, 3 for each category, which with the e-adminitration, are: open city, digital inclusion, innovative smart city, sustainable city, and cooperative city. Precisely, BiscayTIK foundation has also been finalist on the category of open city with its project “Udala Zabaltzen”.

WeGo Awards is promoted by World e-Governments Organization of Cities and Local Governments (WeGo). The first edition was in 2011, with the goal of recognising the best local governments initiatives of modernization and information technologies, digital administration, smart and soustainable cities from the whole world. The ceremony will take place from juny 27th to 30th, at the russian region, Ulyanovsk.
